Please note that Barbara does not work with any speakers’ bureau, because she does not accept fees for public speaking.
Barbara loves reading letters from readers. Fan mail has given her a long list of reasons to keep writing books. (P.O. Box 160, Meadowview, VA 24361.) Because of the volume, however, she regrets that she can’t write individual responses. If you have a particular question you may find the answer elsewhere on this website (see FAQs). Because of the quantity of communications, in an office staffed by one full-time human, we don’t encourage emails or telephone calls.
Every year, Barbara receives hundreds of requests to read and endorse manuscripts, most of them apparently beautifully written and utterly deserving of her support.
If she had superpowers, and nothing else to do, she could read them all and write a jacket blurb for each, creating a ubiquitous rubber-stamp endorsement.
If she had a cold heart, she could choose among these equally deserving candidates and help a few, while shunning all others.
If she had a nepotistic nature, she would endorse those written by friends, acquaintances, people who once met her parents, etc., and ignore the rest.
Alas, she has none of the above, and is therefore unsuited for writing jacket quotes for any book or manuscript, however wondrous. Not ever. Sorry.
